Andrew Gorecki, PT, DPT, FAFS

Physical Therapist

Andrew received his Bachelors in Exercise Science from Northern Michigan University and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Central Michigan University.

Andrew started his career in Grand Haven, MI, where he worked mainly in a outpatient orthopedic setting working with patients and athletes ranging from foot and ankle injuries, knee and hip dysfunctions, shoulder pain, and spine dysfunctions.

In 2011 Andrew moved to Traverse City and opened Superior Physical Therapy to provide a wholistic, functional type of physical therapy which analyzes biomechanical dysfunctions in order to find the root causes of pain and treat them appropriately, giving long-lasting, pain-free results.

His therapy, called Applied Functional Science, originally developed by internationally acclaimed physical therapist Gary Gray, is unique in its effectiveness in returning aging adults, injured patients, high-level athletes or weekend warriors back to optimal health and functionality.

Ben Fuson, DPT

Ben Fuson, PT, DPT, FAFS

Physical Therapist

Ben graduated from Michigan State University (Go Green!) in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2010. He is a fellow of Applied Functional Science, completing his 40-week fellowship in 2014, and is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.

Dr. Fuson is a host of the radio show/podcast called Pain Free Living and speaks at educational masterclasses teaching people how to relieve pain.  Dr. Fuson was raised in Portage, MI and currently resides in Traverse City with his wife Megan and their two children. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, mountain biking, hiking, and doing home improvement projects.

Sarah Patterson, PT, DPT, FAFS

Physical Therapist

Sarah graduated from Grand Valley State University with her Bachelor's degree in Clinical Exercise Science in 2013 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016. After graduation she joined the Superior team and completed her Fellowship of Applied Functional Science and Function Manual Reaction certification in 2017. Sarah and her husband, Brad, welcomed their daughter Carolyn in October 2019. Sarah enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, doing puzzles and reading. She also has 3 dogs that keep her busy. In her free time, she volunteers for the American Physical Therapy Association Michigan, as well as our local Relay For Life event which benefits the American Cancer Society.

Physical Therapist

Megan graduated from Western Michigan University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2013.  Megan continues to attend conferences and participate in continuing education courses to better assist her patients by challenging her knowledge and skills as a PT.  Megan grew up in Battle Creek, and currently lives in Traverse City with her family.  Megan enjoys being outdoors, hiking, skiing, and spending time at the beach.

Taylor Leigeb, PT, DPT, FAFS

Physical Therapist

Taylor graduated from Lake Superior State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and an Associate’s degree in Health & Fitness. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Oakland University in 2020. In March, Taylor moved from her hometown of Waterford, MI to Traverse City to join the Superior team!

Taylor grew up playing lots of sports. Throughout high school she played basketball, softball, volleyball, and golf and continued her athletic career at LSSU where she was the center fielder for their division II softball team. Various sports-related injuries over the years introduced her to the field of physical therapy, which led Taylor to choose a career path that allows her to help others find healing, prevent injuries and function at their optimal level.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, playing sports, and spending time with her family and friends

Lizzie Rolston, DPT

Lizzie Rolston, PT, DPT, FAFS

Physical Therapist

Lizzie graduated from University of Michigan in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science from the School of Kinesiology. She then moved to Chicago to attend Northwestern University, obtaining her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. She spent the next 3 years working in downtown Chicago, where she developed a specialization in performing arts physical therapy through continuing education and onsite experience. In this capacity, she worked with several major professional dance companies and local theaters. In fall 2021, she and her husband moved to Traverse City to grow their roots and enjoy the beauty of northern Michigan. 

Lizzie started dancing as soon as she could walk and danced all the way through college as well as pre-professionally in New York City. She is passionate about human movement and strongly believes that everyone is a dancer. Outside of work, she spends her time with her husband, their golden retriever, and their small, but very loud cat. She enjoys dancing, yoga, Pilates, hiking, and paddle boarding.

Kaitlin graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in 2010. She went on to receive a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Oakland University in 2013.

Kaitlin has spent her career practicing in out patient and home care physical therapy settings. During this time she has gained a wide variety of experience and continued education. She is passionate about helping others improve their mobility and function to live their best lives. She especially enjoys working with the geriatric population.

Kaitlin grew up in Howell Michigan where she met her husband in elementary school. Together, their passion for the outdoors and love of northern Michigan has drawn them to the Traverse City area to continue their careers and start new adventures. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, painting, yoga, camping, kayaking, fishing and hiking.

Karol Gasior graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Allied Health Science. He completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2023 from The University of Michigan, Flint. Of Polish decent, Karol (pronounced "Carl") grew up in Muskegon Michigan, and now lives Kewadin. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, golf, trail running, hiking, and woodworking.

Alexis graduated from Loyola University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan, Flint in 2023. Alexis was raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and currently lives in Kewadin where she enjoys hiking, water skiing, snow skiing, and sitting in the sun with a good book.

Alexis especially enjoys working with patients to heal the body through movement and promoting natural pain relief.

Raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Sean first found himself in northern Michigan whilst playing junior hockey for the Kalkaska Rhinos. Along his junior hockey journey Sean met his wife Madison, who is a native of Traverse City. Sean Studied and played ice hockey at Trine University where he acquired a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Following three years at Trine, he returned to eastern Pennsylvania where he acquired his Doctorate in Physical Therapy whilst playing ice hockey for Alvernia University. Sean has many interests in the realm of physical therapy including the spine, neurologic disorders, and sports. Other interests include cars, music, golf, road trips, family gatherings, and playing ice hockey for the MIHL.

Renee graduated from Michigan State University with her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2018 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2022. Renee recently moved back to Traverse City with her husband after living in the metro Detroit area the past 3 years. Having grown up in northern Michigan, she is happy to be home and closer to family. Renee enjoys staying active by playing beach volleyball, pickleball, kayaking, and is currently working on the motivation to get back into winter sports (warmth is preferred). She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients and is passionate about educating and empowering people to improve their mobility and function, so they have a better quality of life.

Physical Therapy Assistant

Chelsea is from Oscoda, Michigan. She graduated with her Associate of Science in Physical Therapy Assistant from Mid-Michigan College in 2021. She grew up playing basketball, bowling and running track for her hometown school. Chelsea moved to Traverse City in 2022 and enjoys spending her time singing, kayaking, biking and walking trails with her daughter and family in her free time. She plans to become a Gray Institute Fellow of Applied Functional Science increasing her knowledge of functional movement physical therapy. She loves being able to provide the best care to her patients.

Madeline Schulz, MA, ATC

Athletic Trainer

Maddie graduated from the University of Michigan in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. While at Michigan, she had the opportunity to work clinically with Michigan’s wrestling, women’s basketball, track & field, and football teams. In 2023, She completed her Master of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science with a specialization in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the women’s lacrosse, men's/women's swim/dive, and men’s basketball teams. In 2022, she was a part UNC’s women’s lacrosse national championship team. She spent the past year as the athletic trainer for Loyola University Chicago’s women’s basketball, cheer and dance teams. Originally from Wixom, Michigan, Maddie moved to Traverse City for its small-town charm and abundance of outdoor activities. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her dog, running, and spending time outside.

We are happy to have her bringing her vast experience and knowledge to the Superior team. She loves working with all physical types and adapting her workouts to match the ability of her clients in a way that gets them in shape and makes exercising enjoyable. She especially loves leading large groups in fun, effective workouts that improve fitness and longevity.
