The Musculoskeletal System is the only system that we Don’t Do Check Ups On
Would you say it’s normal to go to the dentist every 6 months to get your teeth cleaned and a check-up? Is it normal for women over the age of 40 to get an annual Mammogram to screen for cancer? Is it normal for men over the age of 40 to get a prostate exam? Is it normal for women of all ages to be screen for cancer of the cervix? Is it normal for the doctor to take your blood pressure to see what your risk factors for a stroke are, blood sugar for diabetes, the list goes on and on.
So why is it normal for us to live years and years of our lives without anyone EVER looking and screening our musculoskeletal system? That makes no sense to me and it shouldn’t make any sense to you either. Think about it there is nothing that anyone ever does to check this system to see if it is working properly.
So hopefully right now you’re thinking to yourself well how would you go about and test a system like that? Well the system needs be tested in a way that it functions. So the musculoskeletal system is designed for movement. So you need to move the system in order to see how functional it is. This is where a movement screen comes in. A movement screen is the only way for someone to know if their movement system is functioning properly. Don’t’ be surprised if you never test this system that at some point in your lifetime it breaks down. Imagine never checking your car to see if it has oil. Anyways I could go on and on about this but I would rather do something about it. So we are offering [FREE] Movement screens to any current patient, past patient, friend of a past patient who wants to find out how their body is moving and maybe some areas to focus on for 2016.
Cheers to a Pain Free 2016
