Most people who ask for this have already been told to live with it. Or they have had an injection, a scan, or six weeks of something that did not hold. They are not looking for a sales pitch. They want to know whether anything can actually be done.

So we give away twenty minutes to answer that.

Pain tells you where the back is complaining. It rarely tells you why. A low back is often paying for a hip that stopped extending or a foot that stopped absorbing load years ago, and you cannot see that by pressing on the sore spot.

What happens in the twenty minutes

• 0 to 4 minYour history, and the one question. Not only where it hurts. What you used to do that you have quietly let go of.
• 4 to 15 minWe watch you move. Standing, walking, bending, turning. Three planes, the whole chain, not just the back.
• 15 to 20 minYou get told what we found, in plain English, before you leave.

You keep that answer whether or not you ever come back. And if we do not think we can help you, we will say so and tell you who can. A plan, even if the plan is "you do not need PT, here is what to do instead."
